Novel light-weight modular formwork systems for concrete structures

The project will develop a modular formwork system for concrete using recycled plastics, which is used as a stay-in-place formwork system.

1. Develop a performance testing methodology for re-cycled plastic modular formwork systems 
2. Numerically and experimentally investigate the performance of the modular elements 
3. Numerically and experimentally investigate the performance of the assembled formwork system 
4. Develop a design methodology for modular formwork system 
5. Demonstrate the implementation of the technology through an exemplar project
