This project is aimed at enabling the use of waste tyres as a construction material in underground mines.
Project Objectives:
To characterise the mechanical response of tyre waste placed in cemented rock fill through laboratory and in-situ trials to develop technology for application by the mining industry.
To determine the optimum percentage, and shape of waste tyre rubber particles to be added to T-CRF for maximum stability.
